Trianon

In 1810, Napoleon, who had always dreamed of settling in the Palace of Versailles, commissioned 80,000 meters of fabric from the silk manufacturers of Lyon, thus creating a rich and inspiring decorative repertoire. The order was delivered two years later, just three months before Napoleon’s exile to Saint Helena. As a result, the fabrics were never used and have been preserved ever since by the Mobilier National.
