Challah Covers
Challah covers are special fabrics used to cover the two braids of Challah bread placed on the table at the beginning of a Shabbat or Yom Tov meal. These covers not only add a decorative and ceremonial aspect to the table, but also serve a halachic and symbolic function. They are usually made of fabric and can be hand or machine embroidered, painted, appliquéd or dyed with knots and must be large and opaque enough to completely cover the loaves without showing through the sides.
